Senior Project Manager

As our Senior Project Manager, you will drive transformative infrastructure initiatives that create safer, more functional and more welcoming environments for children, families and staff. This is an opportunity to lead high‑impact projects from concept to completion, champion best‑practice governance and safety, and ensure our built environments reflect Meli’s commitment to fairness, inclusion and community wellbeing.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead end‑to‑end client-side project management for a major building demolition, overseeing governance, statutory approvals, procurement, HSE, quality assurance, and site completion.
  • Provide strategic client-side oversight of an external Development Manager for a major capital project, ensuring strong design governance, procurement rigour, stakeholder engagement, and operational readiness.
  • Deliver scaled project management services for a second capital project, including governance, budgeting, risk management, procurement, construction oversight, and handover.
  • Ensure all projects meet key performance indicators across time, cost, risk, quality, safety and wellbeing (HSW), stakeholder satisfaction, and governance compliance.

Position Details

  • Part time, fixed term position until 30 October 2027
  • 0.6 FTE working 22.8 hours per week
  • Total Remuneration Package in line with experience

What We’re Looking For

We value professionals who bring empathy, expertise, and a commitment to social justice. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Significant client-side Project Management experience delivering capital projects over $3M.
  • Demonstrated oversight of a Development Manager and Design and Construct procurement
  • Strong governance, cost control, programme management and risk/change leadership
  • Strong knowledge of planning frameworks and construction contract forms (eg. AS2124/AS4000)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting
