Expression of Interest - Join our Inspiring Early Childhood Education Team

Where Every Moment Matters

At Meli, we believe early childhood education is a powerful beginning...

Where curiosity is nurtured, voices are heard, and futures are shaped.

Whether you're guiding first steps or sparking big ideas, your work creates lasting impact.

Join a team that sees your passion, values your expertise, and supports your growth - because when educators thrive, children do too

Lead with purpose. Grow with Meli.

We’re inviting expressions of interest from Early Childhood Teachers and Educators (Diploma or Cert III qualified) who want to be part of something bigger. If you’re passionate about play-based learning and want to work in a purpose-driven organisation, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Whether you're looking for a fresh start in 2026 or exploring future opportunities, we’d love to hear from you!

What Happens When You Submit an EOI?

Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first step in connecting with us, it’s not a job application — yet!

By joining our talent pool, you’ll be among the first to hear about opportunities that become available, that align with your skills, interests, and availability across our 31 kindergartens and preschools.

What Your Day Could Look Like

Many of our roles offer consistency, with the added benefit of picking up extra shifts through our relief team. It’s a great way to broaden your experience while staying connected to your home service.

Each day, you’ll help create learning environments where children feel seen, heard, and inspired. You’ll design and deliver play-based experiences that spark curiosity and support growth. You’ll collaborate with passionate teams, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to spaces that are safe, inclusive, and full of possibility.

What You Bring, We Celebrate

We recognise the expertise you bring to your role. Educators & Teachers are paid according to their qualification level under the VECTEA 2020 agreement.

Whether you're seeking a consistent role, flexible shifts, or a pathway to leadership, we’ll work with you to find the right fit.

Who You Might Work With

Across our kindergartens, you’ll join teams that are genuinely supportive and deeply committed to creating enriching early learning experiences. You’ll work with professionals who care about children and each other, contribute to outcomes that matter, and be backed by a workplace culture that values your voice and your growth.

More Than a Workplace

Being part of Meli means your impact reaches beyond the classroom. You’re not just supporting children—you’re helping build stronger families and more connected communities. Through our integrated network of services, your work creates lasting change across the region.

Space to Grow, Support to Lead

At Meli, professional development is built into how we work. You’ll have access to mentoring from experienced pedagogical leaders, plus two annual events—one for our early years team, and one for the wider Meli community. These are moments to connect, reflect, and be inspired.

We support part-time employees currently studying early childhood education through paid placement opportunities at our kindergartens and preschools. It’s a chance to gain hands-on experience in real learning environments, build relationships with experienced educators, and explore what a future career at Meli could look like.

What makes Meli Different

  • Three dedicated organisational days each year (student-free) to connect, reflect, and prepare
  • Non-contact time is protected—if you step into ratio, we make sure you get it back
  • Guaranteed set-up time so you start each day feeling ready

What You'll bring

We’re looking to connect with Educators & Teachers who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their practice. If that sounds like you, here’s what we’d love to see in your background:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education (Bachelor, Diploma, or Cert III as approved by ACECQA)
  • A valid Working with Children Check for Educators or VIT for Teachers
  • Knowledge of the National Education and Care Services Act and Regulations 2011, the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework, and the ECEC National Quality Framework and Standards
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A passion for supporting children’s development through creative, reflective, and responsive teaching practices
