Case Support Worker Care Services

Meli is seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker – Care Services to provide practical, strengths‑based support to children and young people in out‑of‑home care or receiving targeted care services. About the Role

As a Support Worker – Care Services, you will:

  • Provide flexible, day‑to‑day practical support and supervision to children and young people in line with their care plans.
  • Support children and young people to access educational, social, recreational and health appointments, as well as family contact.
  • Act as a positive role model by building trusting relationships, supporting behaviour regulation, and fostering resilience and self‑esteem.
  • Promote safety, stability and consistency while responding calmly and appropriately to challenging or crisis situations as they arise.

 

Position Details

  • Multiple casual position
  • $38.74 - $41.53 p/h + Super (based on qualifications, skills & experience)

 

What We’re Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification (or undertaking) in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, Psychology, Welfare Studies or related field.
  • Experience in working and building rapport with children and young people with complex needs/behaviours and ability to act as a positive role model/mentor.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work as part of a diverse team, including staff and volunteer carers
  • Ability to respond appropriately and with calmness to crisis situations
  • Ability to work flexible work hours – allowing for early pickups and late drop offs
  • Victorian Driver’s license
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma on children and young people and knowledge of trauma informed care/practice.
